►Your R56 MINI Cooper S needs a few things to run correctly; fuel, air, and spark. High-pressure fuel pumps, also known as the HPFP, are common failures on modern engines, and they can generally be viewed as a wear item with a longer service interval. As such, replacing the HPFP in your R56 MINI will likely be something you'll have to do with higher mileage. Unlike some issues, a failing high-pressure fuel pump makes itself apparent on the way out. Its inability to supply the proper amount of fuel leads to hard starting in cold weather, poor idle until the engine is warm, backfires/misfires, and needing a lot of revs to stay running.
