Surrounded by legends, nicknames, and stories, this curious, symbolic, and anthropogenic geological formation in the silhouette of the Serra do Curral is a living witness to the mining exploitation that took over the region starting in the 1960s. In addition to drastically and irreversibly lowering this Belo Horizonte landmark, the mining companies Ferrobel and MBR also dismantled an old colonial road connecting Curral Del Rey and Congonhas de Sabará (now Nova Lima).
