The case of Zahid, a 22-year-old who died in Hermosillo after receiving a vitamin IV drip at home, has raised concerns about the regulation of these types of medical practices. His mother, Zulema Yasmín, recounted that the procedure had been performed previously without complications, but this time his condition deteriorated immediately: dizziness, weakness, hemorrhaging, and ultimately a critical state that led to septic shock and multiple organ failure. The IV drip was allegedly administered by staff associated with the Cellular Regenerative Biological Medicine clinic, whose director, Jesús Maximiliano Verdusco, has not been located.
