Drinking Like The Locals! | Wine Tasting In Tbilisi, Georgia

When in Georgia drink wine, and what better to do on a rainy day in Tbilisi than drink wine in a 17th century wine cellar?! Today we headed to Karalashvili wine cellar for a wine degustation. The cellar is located right in the heart of the Old Town, with all of their wines coming from the family vineyard in the region of Kakheti. We sampled 7 different wines, all created using a mixture of both traditional and more modern techniques. Our host described each wine with so much knowledge and passion and we learnt a lot about the history and flavours of each of the wines. Our tasting session ended with Georgia second favourite tipple - Chacha. This spirit is made from the leftover grape skins, and whilst much stronger and harsher than the wine, we still very much enjoyed it! Wine tasting was a great way to end our time in Georgia, and we would 100% recommend Karalashvili cellars!
