How to do Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency and / or Fellowship in Africa
This webinar discussed various training programs and requirements for cardiothoracic surgery in West Africa, South Africa, (East Africa) Kenya, and (North Africa) Egypt, including the need for membership, fellowship, and residency levels, as well as the importance of cross-regional training and collaboration. The panelists also addressed the challenges faced by international medical graduates and female surgeons in training, and the role of attending conferences in the transition from residency to consultant level. Lastly, the conversation ended with a discussion on the opportunities available for trainees after completing their training in Egypt and the recognition of qualifications in other countries.
