Lagos Blue Line Phase 2 2026 Completion and Urban Rail Expansion

Lagos Blue Line Phase 2 is moving toward its planned 2026 completion, marking a major step in Nigeria’s urban rail expansion strategy. As part of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit network, the Blue Line is designed to improve mobility across Africa’s largest city by connecting key residential and commercial districts with a modern electric rail system. In this update, we examine construction progress, route extensions, station development, and projected passenger capacity. Phase 2 is expected to extend services further west, strengthening links between Marina and Okokomaiko while supporting daily commuters and reducing pressure on road transport corridors.
