Cedar Lumber is NOT Rot Resistant?
It is commonly believed cedar lumber is rot resistant. In a lot of cases it is, but not always. Not all cedar is the same. In this video I salvage logs from an incense cedar tree that came down a few years ago in a snowstorm. We find out if this cedar has become rotten in just a few years or if it was rot resistant and stayed solid. If the logs are solid we will put them on my Woodmizer LT15 sawmill in an upcoming video and see if we can get some good rot resistant lumber out of them. In this small scale logging operation I am using a Stihl MS 462 chainsaw. The tractor is a Massey Ferguson MF 30 MF 34 with a Farmi 501 tractor winch.
