The leads are Giuliano Gemma and Fernando Sancho, both fantastic in this film, as always. Sancho, who plays the villain as always, is even more ruthless than usual in this film. The lovely Rosalba Neri, another familiar face from spaghetti westerns, also makes an appearance in the film. Gemma, as Arizona Colt, can be compared to Bugs Bunny enjoying playing sidekick to Fernando Sancho and his Elmer Fudd gang, but that doesn't make the film a comedy western at all. While there are many funny moments, the body count is high and there's a strong element of revenge. The soundtrack is very good, with a strong spaghetti feel, and the film is well shot and directed. The story takes a while to engage the viewer, but it eventually does, and it's a well-written story. built. I give it 7 stars mainly because I don't think it's up to the Ringo films with Gemma, but that said, I still highly recommend this film. It has a lot going for it. As a Hollywood Western, there would have been too much death and too much focus on destruction. As an Italian Western, it takes itself too seriously and relies too heavily on long, sweeping shots of the Old West.
