This may be the hardest song I've ever written. The Kiss of Judas isn't about pointing a finger at Judas. It's about looking in the mirror. As I wrote these lyrics, I kept asking myself uncomfortable questions. How many times have I said I love Jesus while choosing my own way? How often have I looked devoted on the outside while my heart drifted somewhere else? This song became less about betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane and more about the hidden compromises that can quietly grow in my own life. It's a prayer that God would search my heart, expose what doesn't belong there, and teach me to love Him with honesty instead of appearances. "Search me, O God, and know my heart...
