In this episode, we ended up in the heart of the Paraíba Cariri region, in one of the most incredible and unexpected places we've ever visited: Pedra do Altar, in Barra de Santana, Paraíba. The trail is about 3 km (round trip) and leads to breathtaking landscapes, with cacti, mandacarus, facheiros, and rock formations that look like they're straight out of a movie. Along the way, we passed the curious Pedra do Criminoso (Criminal's Rock), where they say Lampião once hid. And we swam in the icy pools of the Paraíba River. In the middle of the route, we also found rock paintings made by the Tapuia people, and visited caves hidden among the rocks. All this less than 2h30 from João Pessoa and 1h from Campina Grande! To top it all off, there was homemade food at the complex's restaurant.
