Ragni inside their world: Adriano "Franz" Carnati
Adriano Carnati, known to his friends as "Franz," officially joined the Ragni in the years following his "furious" mountaineering seasons. His climbing journey, however, has always been spent alongside (often on the same rope) many of our fellow members who, starting in the 1980s, have been, like him, protagonists in exploring the new potential and horizons opened up by the "discovery" of free climbing. Franz was among the first in the Lecco area to tackle the benchmark routes at the temples of modern, high-difficulty rock climbing like Wenden and Ratikon, and to bring that style to the walls of Masino. His mountaineering soul has led him far and wide among the world's great mountains, always pursuing the ideal of free climbing and fast-and-light mountaineering. In this video, directed by Luca Granfos, Adriano Carnati talks about himself, offering a glimpse into an extraordinary moment in the evolution of the vertical world.
