Music With Matt: Darrell Scott Talks Bassist Danny Thompson
For the month of May, I really wanted to do some videos celebrating topics and people that are extra special to me. Danny Thompson is one such person. Truly the greatest bassist I've ever heard, his music has been a part of my listening life for many years, through his work with John Martyn, Richard Thompson, Peter Knight, and many others, as well as today's very special guest, Darrell Scott. Danny has played bass on 5 total albums of Darrell's including his recently released "The Blues Of Hank Williams." I was so intrigued to hear what Darrell had to say about their years of collaborating, and what he says in this interview I think is exceptionally important. The details he shares about Danny are not only relevant to the topic of Danny Thompson, they are details that describe what a true artist and great musician is. I was so inspired by what Darrell imparted in this interview! Whether you know about Danny or not, this conversation will certainly be interesting to you! Enjoy!
