The Beauty and Reality of Getting Older

I’ve spent my whole life training for where I am right now. In this "raw" and unedited video, I’m looking back at the path that brought me to this porch. From working at a newspaper at 16 to becoming a nursing home administrator, a "dinosaur" hairdresser, and eventually a state social service specialist—every job taught me something about the beauty and the reality of aging. When I lost my husband and went back to school at 39, I didn't realize I was building the foundation for the "helpful voice" I want to be for you today. I have a question for you: What has your life been training you for? Whether you’re retired or just starting to think about it, I’d love to hear your story in the comments. Thank you for being part of this community and helping me reach 2,312 watch hours! We are getting closer to that goal every day. If you're new here, I'm glad you found us. Welcome to Red Dirt Retirement. #RedDirtRetirement #AgingGracefully #RetirementLife #OklahomaLife #LifeStories P.S. This is my first attempt to do a video like this—completely raw and from the heart. Please show some grace as I deal with the Oklahoma wind and a bit of a shaky camera! I just couldn't wait for a "perfect" day to share these thoughts with you.
