Astrophotography Japan / First Light - Askar 107PHQ (Episode 79)

On this imaging road trip, I brought along my new Askar 107PHQ telescope for its First Light imaging night. Besides introducing the telescope, I also discuss my reasons for selecting the 107PHQ among the great number of possible telescope options. The imaging location was in the south central highlands of Chiba prefecture at the Miyanoshita Picnic Grounds. This location was dark, excellent for imaging and I was literally the only person there from the evening hours until the next morning. My primary targets were the Sombrero Galaxy (M104), Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) and Triffid Nebula (M20). Some widefield imaging was also performed with the SVBony SV535, capturing the Blue Horesehead nebula (IC4592) and Small Sagittarius Star Cloud (M24). 02:02. Katakura Dam 02:39.
