HOW TO BUILD A RACE CAR: OM606 swap episode 4. Out with the old in with the new
Continuing with the OM606 swap into the w126 300SDL chassis. Got the replacement OM606 all put together ready to drop into the car. DPumpuk adapter place and clutch kit was used to put the GS6-37DZ transmission behind the OM606, got a HX35 turbo kit from Benz injection bolted up and plan to buy an injection pump from Benz Injection. Due to tariffs I decided to go with Benz injection since he’s located in Texas USA and I didn’t want to pay an arm and leg for more parts. The adapter kit from DPumpuk had me pay a 500 dollar tariff fee to get it delivered to my house so I said no thanks. Old engine was pulled out and cleaned the engine bay out so I can have a clean slate to begin swapping the OM606 in and figuring out engine mounts, rad, air intercooler, wiring, etc. Am I in over my head?
