Wedgwood, Lee B-17 Ball Turret Gunner
B-17 airman stationed in England during WWII with the 390th Bomb Group describing his training and missions. He was the ball turret gunner for crew #14, 568th squadron. When it came time to be deployed to Europe, the crew boarded a troopship, named the USS General William Mitchell, to be transported to England. After arriving in England, the crew were transported to Framlingham to begin their tour. The crew's first mission was in the summer of 1944. 4 months later Wedgwood and his crew would complete their tour of 35 missions.
