Georgia State Patrol vs. Stolen RAM TRX | Driver WREAKS HAVOC On Georgia Roads!

On January 4, 2024, at approximately 1045 hours, I was en route to a BOLO in reference to a stolen 2024 Dodge Ram TRX near Omaha Road in Atlanta, GA. A law enforcement officer who was the owner of the vehicle, was tracking the stolen vehicle and was able to give updates on it’s location. As I was responding to the area, TFC Hunn #999 located the vehicle, immediately initiating a pursuit. At this time, I began to join the pursuit as secondary, as it was led through several routes of southwest Atlanta (South Fulton). Upon reaching the intersection of Camp Creek Pkwy and Campbellton Road, the suspect made a U-turn and attempted to travel southbound. TFC Hunn performed a PIT maneuver, but the suspect was able to recover and proceeded to make another U-turn to flee north. At this point, TFC Hunn made contact a second time but was unsuccessful. As TFC Hunn proceeded through the Campbellton Road intersection, his vehicle became disabled after making contact with a civilian vehicle. At this time, I became primary in the pursuit as it continued west on Campbellton Road. After making a right turn onto Fulton Industrial Boulevard, the Ram TRX continued northbound as it passed several surface streets. While approaching the intersection of Patton Drive, the Ram TRX attempted to avoid traffic as it traveled off-road. During this maneuver, it appeared as a female passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle (Ram TRX). The Ram TRX continued northbound until it made a right and entered onto I-20 East. MCCD Officer Truitt then took primary as he continued to follow the fleeing vehicle eastbound. During the pursuit, MCO Truitt’s vehicle lost power steering shortly afterwards, discontinuing the pursuit. Upon crossing I-285, I observed the Ram TRX continuing I-20 East but lost visual near H.E. Holmes. The owner was able track the vehicle onto Oak Cliff Road, where it was found abandoned. Atlanta Police Crime Scene unit arrived on scene and was able to process the vehicle for fingerprints.
