I think my first experiences of perfume were those of my relatives: aldehydic fogs of Chanel no. 5, YSL Rive Gauche and Estee Lauder Youth Dew that have put me off those fragrances for LIFE. 😂 I've stayed away from strong aldehyde based perfumes in this video and ventured only a little further back in the mists of time to dabble my toe in the waters of only the late 1980s and 1990s mostly. I've tried to obtain the vintage formulations rather than the modern versions to sniff of some fragrances from Lancome, Ralph Lauren and of course, the perfume classic, Calvin Klein. All of these perfumes are still readily available to buy today (20+ years later) which shows that they must all have something about them that made them successful... Here I try 4 or 5 vintage-ish fragrances and tell you what I think... will I like any of them? These were all secondhand (preloved LOL) blind buys for the sakes of the environment and my wallet. Extra info on CK Eternity you might be interested in: Anecdotally, I've heard reports that the CK Eternity bottles made in the USA and those made in Spain smell quite different. The bottle I sampled is from a US batch. The US batches are supposed to be more floral and more feminine smelling, those made in Spain are reported to smell more aromatic and more masculine. I have no idea if this is the case but I've seen it written several times on different pages so I thought I'd mention it!
