The match started with an attempt by Farul to put pressure, but Steaua clearly showed from the beginning their intention to control the phases. The early opportunity for the hosts, a penalty taken by Mendy, but poorly executed by Florin Maxim, was a signal – there were moments when they could have opened the scoring, but they did not materialize. The red-blues were not slow to respond: in the 29th minute, António Semedo scored the first goal after a corner kick, the ball deflected by the wind fooled the Farul goalkeeper and fell into the net. This goal set the tone even more. Just two minutes later, the same team causes problems for Farul: Semedo crosses, and Maxim, even though he missed the penalty, scores… into his own goal, thus scoring an own goal.
