Ingrid Jensen presents a workshop to demonstrate how she uses breathing exercises and resonant pitches to develop fluidity on the trumpet and inspire her improvisation. Recorded for the 2020 Festival of New Trumpet Music, this video also includes two performances with Kris Davis (piano), Nate Radley (guitar), and Jon Wikan (drums). The Festival of New Trumpet Music (FONT Music) is a non-profit, based in New York City. Since 2003, the festival has commissioned and presented new music from a diverse community of trumpet and brass players, through a series of performances and workshops.
