Harvesting and Making A Honeysuckle Tincture
*** Disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor am I a "practicing" physician. Just an herbalist doing what comes naturally for my family. If you choose to make this tincture you are doing it of your own free will. You are a adult that can make their own choices. Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.🍀 Would like to welcome you each out to my wild backyard to harvest organic honeysuckle and then off to the Shed Of Many Names to make the tincture. Absolutely love the sweet scent of honeysuckle when it is in bloom. Just wished it wasn't so invasive. Unfortunately it was brought to America and then became a out of control invasive species. With this all being said it is a blessing to have this tincture once again back in stock. Let's delve a little deeper in to the medicinal benefits of this beautiful honeysuckle. The Latin name for the Japanese honeysuckle I am using is Lonicera japonica it is a hearty vines lope. It has been well studied for its ability to help the body clear viruses. The stems and flower buds are alterative, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, depurative, diuretic and febrifuge. The plant is also used to reduce blood pressure. The stems are used internally in the treatment of acute rheumatoid arthritis, mumps and hepatitis. Externally, the flowers are applied as a herbal wash to skin inflammations, infectious rashes and sores. This is just some of the most important benefits of using Japanese honeysuckle in tincture form. As always make sure that you do your own research and make sure it is the right one for you to use. Hope this video encourages you to also go out and harvest your own Japanese honeysuckle for medicinal reasons. Just be careful while doing so and watch out for snakes. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the comment section below I will answer them as soon as possible. Everyone take care and have a blessed day. ❤️🍀🦉 Blessings, Teresa #harvestingwildhoneysuckle #makingajapanesehoneysuckletincture #gardeninghomesteadingskills #selfsufficiency #oldwaysgardeningandprepping You can check my merchandise out at the link below.
