How to Perform a Bailey Comb Exchange - #Beekeeping Basics - The Norfolk Honey Co
How to Perform a Bailey Comb Exchange - #Beekeeping Basics - The Norfolk Honey Co Well, here goes! My first attempt at a demo on camera - The Bailey Comb Exchange is a great way to swap out old wax for new in an existing strong colony whilst retaining the brood in the old frames. Replacing foundation and brood frames is an important routine to make a habit of. Once performed the brood can be allowed to emerge and once the frames are empty of brood they can be removed and recycled or used above the brood box as a honey box. Once full of honey, extract and then recycle. I hope I'm not too wooden in this and you understand the principles involved. Things can only get better from here!
