🟣 This documentary is set in a mountainous mezra in the Balat/Karaağaç (Raşot) region of Rize and tells the story of 48‑year‑old Recep Öksüm’s life intertwined with nature. Recep raises animals alone in the mezra and can hardly sleep because the place where he lives has no door, and he must stay constantly alert to bears and other wild animals frequently seen nearby. Though he seems to live alone, his “neighbor,” 30‑year‑old Ahmet Faruk Varelci, often visits and supports him. Their shared love for animals binds them together in their daily life. Meanwhile, Recep’s 80‑year‑old father and his brothers also lend help whenever possible. Surrounded by harsh natural conditions, this life unfolds as a tale of solitude, solidarity, and profound connections with nature.
