Victoria Police Academy: Polly's Story

This series focuses on the training, culture, and experience of recruits at the Victoria Police Academy. This is Polly’s story. Polly knew she always wanted to serve her community, but felt she needed to develop her skills working with people. After several years working in hospitality, she applied to join Victoria Police, saying she was keen to ‘…use my skills that I know I had there deep down…’ to help others. Polly was a little apprehensive about coming to the Academy, unsure of the support she would receive as a parent with a young child, ‘Being a mum… That was freaking me out.
