O PR2 AGN – Os Povos das Ribeiras de Piódão é um dos trilhos mais marcantes da Serra do Açor. Ao longo de cerca de 10 km, este percurso circular leva-nos por caminhos rurais e florestais que durante séculos foram usados por pastores, mercadores e viajantes que cruzavam a antiga estrada real entre Coimbra e a Covilhã. Aqui descobrimos aldeias de xisto como Piódão, Chãs d’Égua e Foz d’Égua, cada uma com a sua identidade, história e silêncio próprio. Pelo caminho encontramos socalcos agrícolas conquistados à serra, ribeiras profundas, zonas de lazer e locais como Pés Escaldados, onde a água sempre serviu de descanso aos caminhantes. Em Chãs d’Égua, o Centro Interpretativo revela mais de cem rochas gravadas entre o Neolítico e a Idade do Ferro — um dos mais importantes conjuntos de arte rupestre entre o Tejo e o Côa. Este vídeo acompanha todo o percurso, mostrando paisagens, histórias, lendas e a vida das comunidades que moldaram estas montanhas através da agricultura, pastorícia e apicultura. The PR2 AGN – Os Povos das Ribeiras de Piódão is one of the most remarkable hiking trails in the Serra do Açor, central Portugal. This 10 km circular route follows ancient rural and mountain paths once used by shepherds, merchants and travelers moving along the old royal road that connected Coimbra to Covilhã. Along the way, we explore traditional schist villages such as Piódão, Chãs d’Égua and Foz d’Égua, each with its own character, history and quiet charm. The trail reveals terraced fields carved into the slopes, crystal clear streams, resting spots and places like Pés Escaldados, where water has long offered relief to tired feet. In Chãs d’Égua, the Interpretive Center showcases over one hundred engraved rocks dating from the Neolithic to the Iron Age — one of the most significant rock art concentrations between the Tagus and the Côa valleys. This video follows the entire route, sharing landscapes, stories, legends and the heritage of the communities who shaped these mountains through agriculture, shepherding and beekeeping. Some sections are steep and demanding, but every viewpoint rewards the effort.
