Bi'NeviGazete Editor-in-Chief Füsun Saka spoke with Prof. Dr. Psychiatrist Doğan Şahin about narcissism, a major psychological problem and therefore a topic of discussion in many therapy rooms and social media. Şahin emphasizes that everyone has a narcissistic side, saying: “When everyone meets someone new, they want the other person to like them and bring out their good qualities, but narcissists immediately reveal their strengths and weaknesses. In fact, they reveal them very quickly. They'll reveal how important they are, which schools they attended, and sometimes, in the midst of general conversation, they'll somehow reveal their material possessions. I won't say they make you feel. They want the new person they meet to like them, but ultimately, it's up to them to decide whether they like that person or not.” Freud states that narcissistic individuals generally associate with admirable people.
