This sutra begins the process of the preliminary wake, the wake ceremony, the funeral, the bone-returning service, the memorial service, and more... We send off those who have lived their lives to the fullest, and as those of us left behind in this world, we witness their death and begin the ceremony of a time and place to reflect on our own meaning of life. Even as I explain this, many of you will probably say, "What's that all about? We hold funerals to honor the dead!" That's why I give the first sutra, the talk in this video. So that those left behind can recognize the "deceased" who are about to begin as "someone who lived their life to the fullest"... I hope you will watch the video until the end.
