This decision was made at the manufacturer level and applies not only to Russia but also to all other countries whose specifications differ from those supplied to EU markets. This is due to the extremely low demand for such options in this segment, as well as the significantly higher price of a car equipped with advanced safety systems and more airbags. Very few people in our country are willing to pay extra for such options," Darya Golenitskaya, Head of Marketing and PR at Suzuki Motor RUS, told Za Rulem. The Russian Suzuki Jimny Enthusiasts Club also noted that European-spec SUVs will be imported to Ukraine, but they will cost the same as the Russian-spec versions. Unfortunately, Russians will not be able to retrofit the missing safety systems. This situation is largely due to the specifics of vehicle imports into our country. "The specifications supplied to the Ukrainian market are identical to those supplied to EU countries." "This means Euro-6 engines, a suite of safety systems including automatic braking, but without the ERA-GLONASS system, which is mandatory only in Russia (and adds a significant premium to the car). Furthermore, the nearly identical price in the Russian and Ukrainian markets is also due to significantly lower customs duties in Ukraine," explained Daria Golenitskaya. The Suzuki Jimny SUV is available in Russia in two trim levels, priced from 1,359,000 to 1,569,000 rubles. In Russia, the fourth-generation Jimny is offered with a new 1.5-liter K15V engine. It produces 102 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. Despite the increased displacement, the physical dimensions of the powertrain (the sum of the length, width, and height) have been reduced. This has largely contributed to the engine becoming 15% lighter, and fuel consumption has improved. The new engine is available with a choice of two transmissions: a 5-speed manual or an upgraded 4-speed automatic from AISIN. The Suzuki Jimny retains its excellent off-road capabilities, including a ladder-type frame, robust independent suspension, and selectable all-wheel drive. The new generation vehicle is available with the AllGRIP PRO intelligent all-wheel drive system. A key feature of this system is the transfer case with a low-range gearbox, which increases engine torque. The Jimny's selectable all-wheel drive is available in three configurations: 2H, 4H, and 4L. The vehicle boasts outstanding geometry. The approach angle is 37 degrees, the departure angle is 49 degrees, and the breakover angle is 28 degrees. The SUV has a turning radius of 4.9 m, and ground clearance is 210 mm. The new Jimny is also equipped with: Hill Hold Assist; Hill Descent Assist; Electronic Stability Program (ESP); Tire Pressure Monitoring System; Suzuki's proprietary TEST (Total Effective Control Technology). This technology uses specially calculated, programmed crumple zones in the vehicle body to dissipate impact energy, maximizing driver and passenger protection; Two airbags; A front bumper to protect pedestrians from injury in a collision.
