Born in 1938 in Mambeling Cebu City Philippines, he is the oldest and last remaining member of the Original Balintawak Self Defense Club Established in 1952. Great Grand Master Atillo was raised by the best Eskrimadors in Filipino Martial Arts history, and has spent 76 years training, evolving, and developing his remarkable style. His Father was Vincent Atillo who was a champion Wrestler, Eskrimador and well known Guerrilla during WW2 for the United States Armed Forces Far East division, and a member of the 85th infantry combat division. His God Father was Delphine Lopez, he was also a guerrilla during WW2 and a champion boxer. Delphine Lopez was a highly feared Eskrimador well known all through out all the Philippines.
