Mercedes Triple Victory 1914-2014 / The Racing Heroes of the Grand Prix de Lyon
This is our "backstage" look at the revival of Mercedes spectacular triple victory 100 years ago. The French Grand Prix of July 1914 was the last big race before World War I broke loose, with Mercedes winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd against a supposedly predominant competition. Three original race cars return to the historic place in late April 2014 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their victory. We talk to race driver Jochen Mass, restorer Eddie Berrisford and car collector and former US senator George F. Wingard, among others
