However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, performances have been canceled. Then, in 2024, a new cast was welcomed as part of Kinokuniya Hall's 60th anniversary performance, and the final performance was met with a full house standing ovation, sparking many requests for a repeat performance. This long-awaited revival of "Monte Carlo Illusion" is finally here. The lead role of Detective Chief Kimura Denbei will be played by Tawada Tomoyoshi, who continues to captivate audiences with his bewitching and insane acting. Kizaki Yuria will continue to play the role of policewoman Mizuno Tomoko, bringing her heartbreaking yet powerful performance to tonight's performance. Also reprising her role from 2024, the role of Detective Hayami Kensaku will be played by Yoshijima Riku, who has been active in a wide range of roles from TV dramas to films. Suspect Oyama Kintaro will be played by Torikoshi Yuki, whose presence, backed by his extensive stage experience, has made him a central part of the production and the troupe. On the 17th, the day before the opening, some scenes were shown and the cast revealed rehearsal secrets. The rehearsals for the film are said to have taken place over a week, and Kizaki reflected on the fact that they had a run-through on the first day of rehearsals, saying, "It was thrilling." He also added, "There's no way a rehearsal room like that could have taken place." Tawada revealed, "To be honest, I thought they might not make it through," and "I was secretly nervous." However, Tawada reflected, "This time, we only had a week of rehearsals, but once rehearsals started, no one seemed worried. That shows the mutual trust that 'we can do it with these members,' and I personally felt on the first day of rehearsal that the Monte team has a strong bond."
