Wie man mit der Kettensäge schnitzt | SWR Handwerkskunst

Shaping details in wood with rough tools. World-renowned chainsaw artist Michael Tamoszus transforms a tree trunk into a work of art. The woodcarver uses his chainsaws to carve a massive brown bear within four days. His work is reminiscent of that of a sculptor. Instead of hammer and chisel, the wood artist from Bad Schussenried uses a selection of different sized chainsaws. He uses the coarse tools as if he were wielding a delicate carving knife in his hands. In addition to the design of animal motifs, he is particularly fond of human faces and bodies. It is precisely the detailed design that makes his wooden sculptures appear extremely lively. His works can be found in zoos, at associations, companies and private customers. He is world famous as a woodcarver. With a bear sculpture he became vice world champion. Today he lives from his art.
