A population of 39 thousand people. The city is located 140 km from Moscow, on the Bank of lake Pleshcheyevo, in the place of the confluence of the Trubezh river. The city is included in the Golden ring of Russia. The city was founded in 1152 by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky as the future capital of northeast Russia. BLUE STONE (Blue stone) — sacred stone near of lake Pleshcheyevo, Pereslavl, a mountain Alexandrova and ancient city of Klein. This is one of the few true ritual objects preserved from the times of pagan Russia. Located in the national Park "Plescheevo lake." Alexandrov mountain (Yarilin mountain) — a hill on the banks of lake Pleshcheyevo near the settlement of Kleschina and the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky. The height of the peak above sea level, about 170 m. It is also believed that this artificial hill built the great Prince Alexander Nevsky on the place where he spent his childhood. Assumption Goritsky monastery is a former Orthodox monastery in Pereslavl-Zalessky, Pereslavl abolished together with the diocese in 1744 in the course of secularization (government seizure of monastic lands). The monastery founded in 1919 and is located in Pereslavl-Zalessky state historic-architectural and art Museum-reserve.
