The Feed traveled around Australia in 2019 to meet the people fighting an automated debt recovery system they say is unlawful and unfair. Since then there has been a royal commission into the scheme which found described it as a crude and cruel. It went as far as to recommend civil and criminal charges to people involved. The scheme wrongfully took $721 million from around 381,000 people between 2015 and 2020.
