泥火山也能做豆腐?! / 韓國家庭第一次挑戰手作愛玉凍！

We experienced two of the most unique rural activities you can find in Hualien, Taiwan! In this video, we make aiyu jelly, one of Taiwan’s most refreshing summer desserts, and try making traditional tofu using natural mineral water from a mud volcano. Our first destination was Fan Family Aiyu Farm (范家愛玉園), located in the Dongfeng Leisure Agricultural Area. Aiyu jelly is made by rubbing dried aiyu seeds in water until the liquid naturally sets into a soft and bouncy jelly. Served with lemon juice and pineapple, it was sweet, tangy, and incredibly refreshing. Grandma enjoyed it so much that she kept asking for another bowl! Next, we visited Luoshan Nature Experience Farm (羅山大自然體驗農家) in Fuli, southern Hualien. We ground soaked soybeans with a traditional stone mill, cooked the soy milk, filtered out the soybean pulp, and added natural mineral-rich water from the nearby mud volcano to make tofu. What did the mud volcano tofu made by our whole family taste like? Many travelers think of Taipei or Kaohsiung first when planning a trip to Taiwan, but Hualien offers spectacular natural scenery as well as hands-on activities where visitors can experience local farming traditions and culture. Direct flights are also available between Incheon International Airport and Hualien Airport, allowing travelers to reach Hualien without transferring through Taipei or Kaohsiung.
