It is located almost immediately to Moscow, northeast of the city, beyond the Losiny Ostrov National Park. It is also one of the first and largest science cities in the country, named after S.P. Korolev, chief designer of OKB No. 1 (now RSC Energia), under whose leadership the domestic rocket and space industry developed, including Yuri Gagarin's space flight. Korolev has an extensive shopping and entertainment infrastructure, several park areas, including a central city park, a large sports complex, several museums and cultural centers, one of the largest bike paths in the Moscow region (cycling in the city is very popular), and good transport accessibility to both Moscow and several cities in the region. The city offers a wealth of walking opportunities. It's difficult to explore even the main ones in a single day...
