Hot Tenting in Windy Conditions | Pomoly Circle 6 First Trip of the Year

We’re back out for another weekend of hot tent camping—this time bringing out the Pomoly Circle 6 for its first trip of the year. What started off as a calm and quiet day in the mountains quickly turned into a windy test for our setup, as strong gusts rolled in off the river. This trip had a bit of everything—setting up camp in changing conditions, putting our hot tent to the test, and settling into a cozy night once things finally calmed down. With the wind picking up, we had to adjust quickly, making sure everything was secure and ready in case the weather got worse. Once the fire was going and the wind began to settle, we were able to enjoy one of our favourite parts of camping—cooking over an open fire. Tonight’s meal: a hearty chicken stew in a Dutch oven, perfect for colder evenings and easy to prepare at camp. There’s nothing quite like sitting by the fire, letting a meal slowly cook, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Later in the evening, we head inside the hot tent, fire up the stove, and wind down after a long day. The next morning brings calm weather, coffee, and a quiet moment to take it all in before packing up camp.
