Kouri Richins Hearing - Motion to Disqualify Prosecutors

Watch the full coverage:    • LIVE COURT | Kouri Richins Motions Hearing.   Kouri Richins faces accusations of poisoning her husband, Eric Richins, with fentanyl. Although she was entitled to half of his business if he died during their marriage, she was unaware that he had transferred it to his sister's name. The estate of Eric Richins is involved in multiple civil lawsuits. While in jail, Kouri allegedly wrote coded letters, that could suggest witness tampering. Her attorney, Skye Lazaro, left the case voluntarily after previously filing a motion to remove the entire district attorney’s office due to allegations about them accessing attorney-client calls which is privileged information. The state responded that the only calls they accessed were non-privileged, as they were not made to her attorney. However, this included call the defendant made to family members discussing topics previously addressed with or about her attorney. Emotions rang high during the hearing, with the judge acknowledging at one point how he understood why the district attorney's office would be "pissed".
