Kenwood NX-800 - Summer School Bus Radio Chatter with FleetSync

Turned on my radios on Monday and noticed there was still a lot of activity on the bus channels due to summer school, special ed, and charter routes. At this point, the West Chicago buses and drivers are being moved over to the Carol Stream terminal in preparation for next year, and that's the one I'm listening to in this video. If some of you have been watching my videos for a while, you may recognize the voice of the West Chicago safety manager, Vince. While I was recording, he was dispatching out of Carol Stream. Vince is an awesome guy who works very hard to keep the drivers driving safe, in addition to periodically driving buses himself and running dispatch. I really do hope he'll be at Carol Stream as well come next year. Buses 1 and 2201, both former West Chicago buses, are heard in this video, meaning they are already at Carol Stream. Bus 1 is a full-sized, wheelchair lift-equipped, Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2, while 2201 is a Thomas/Ford mini bus. I actually got to ride bus 1 on one of the last few days of school, and I will have a video of that up pretty soon. As you guys can see, Carol Stream's repeater is a lot clearer and stronger than the other one, which is why I like it better. I believe this frequency is 463.2625 MHz. West Chicago's is 461.8875, which, as you guys know, had a lot of interference coming through on the repeater input, causing frustratingly hard to understand communications between the drivers. Towards the end of this video, you can hear one of the base radios sounding slightly muted. The problem got worse and worse. Yesterday, I could hear the radio wasn't transmitting any audio at all, and the drivers were not to communicate with that base radio. Knowing what was going on, I gave dispatch a phone call and informed them that radio was not transmitting any audio. Within 20 minutes of my call, it sounded like they had swapped the whole radio out, because one of the dispatchers was now calling from a radio that had clear, loud audio and wasn't transmitting any FleetSync ID. Even if the radio isn't using FleetSync, it's still working fine, and rest assured, that problem has been fixed. During the moving of the buses and the overall tidying up of things, the shop mechanic is still on the lookout for more old radio equipment to give me.
