Hello pupils, we continue with faith and determination studying the Sicilian Najdorf in this series with Pupilochess. This time I bring you the eighth installment, where I tell you the incredible story of how Bobby Fischer, in the 1965 Havana tournament, refuted a theoretical line that forced White to win in the Poisoned Pawn Variation of the Sicilian Najdorf. Fischer lets his opponent, Bulgarian GM Tringov, believe he had victory assured with an unstoppable mate, when he suddenly pulls an ace up his sleeve and turns the game around.
