High Court recalls Besigye case from Kasangati court

Hope for Col. Kizza Besigye to regain his freedom of movement hits a setback, after the chief magistrate’s court in Kasangatti failed to deliver its ruling on the case this morning as had promised yesterday. Besigye’s case file was recalled by the high court registrar, and as such Prossy Katushabe, the Kasangati chief magistrate could not give a ruling until the high court directs otherwise. Katushabe has not given a specific date on when she will make a ruling. Besigye’s lawyers led by David Mpanga are dissatisfied by this development, saying that they were not informed about the directive. Dr. Kizza Besigye through his lawyers filed a case at Kasangati chief magistrates’ court, seeking an order for Police to vacate Besigye’s home, where it has picthed camp for the last one month.
