on My Fair Lady: “In July and November of 1956, I made two appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, the biggest weekly variety show on television at the time. Sullivan's ratings were so high that he attracted top performing talent from all over the world. I certainly wasn't a headliner; and my appearances were not particu­larly noteworthy, but they were important for two reasons: I was exposed to a vast viewing audience across the country, and, more importantly, I sang songs from My Fair Lady. These, together with scenes from Camelot, which I performed on his show in 1961 with Richard Burton and Robert Goulet, are the only filmed records that exist of my performances in both musicals.” Andrews, Julie (2008). Home: A Memoir of My Early Years. p. 226 ------ On Camelot: “It so happened that My Fair Lady was celebrating its fifth anniversary, and Ed Sullivan decided to devote a full hour of his famed television show to Lerner and Loewe. Richard and I appeared in it, and after several songs from their other shows were performed, a seventeen-minute excerpt from Camelot closed the televised evening. This coincided with the new changes that had just gone into the show, and there was a palpable electricity that night. The following morning, there was a line of people outside the theater and around the block, queuing for tickets. Sales rocketed sky­ ward, and Camelot was, at last, a big hit.
