Creating the Perfect Eurodactylodes vieillardi Enclosure | Bioactive Build

Welcome back to Sunspots & Shadows! In this video, I build a bioactive Exo Terra Frog & Co 18x18x18 enclosure for one of my dream gecko species, the Chameleon Gecko (Eurodactylodes vieillardi). This enclosure didn't actually start out as a gecko project. Originally, I planned for this tank to house another species of dart frog, but after the opportunity came up to work with Eurodactylodes vieillardi, I decided to redesign the enclosure to better suit the needs of these incredible New Caledonian Chameleon Geckos. Follow along as I build the cork background, install the hardscape, set up the drainage and misting systems, create planting ledges, add bioactive substrate, and modify the enclosure with additional branches specifically for Chameleon Geckos. Plants featured in this build include: • Ficus pumila • Marcgravia small round • Marcgravia umbellata red • Peperomia emarginella Ecuador • Hoya carnosa • Selaginella uncinata (Peacock Fern) • Epidendrum ibaguense orchid • Biophytum sp. Ecuador I also share the temporary quarantine and grow-out enclosures that will house the Chameleon Geckos while this display vivarium establishes and grows in.
