Morena confirmed that on June 22nd it will open registration for candidates to coordinate the committees of the Fourth Transformation in the 17 states that will hold gubernatorial elections in 2027. The process will include in-person or online registration, a telephone survey to select the most competitive candidates, and subsequently an in-home survey to determine the state coordinators. Citlalli Hernández, president of Morena's National Elections Commission, indicated that the party will give greater weight to positive public opinion and that the final surveys could be conducted after July. She also promised that the party will review the reputation and potential links to illicit activities of the candidates through consultations with security authorities before finalizing candidacies.
