I've got some secrets to share with you. Here are the key traits of successful event planners. Flexibility If you think your plan is going to come together no matter what, you will struggle a lot in event planning. Things will go wrong inevitably. How you adapt makes the difference. Successful event professionals adapt, no matter what. 2. Grit Very successful event planners I've met, keep going, no matter what. They are not easy to take down, they have unmatched resilience. They believe in their plan and will do everything to see it an action. 3. Visual Planning The ability to visualise a plan is a skill that defines successful event planners. They can submerge themselves in the event they are planning and anticipate every scenario that will materialise during the event. Such skill is so important when preventing common customer fail scenarios and security issues. 4. Attention to Detail A great event lies in the details. Event professionals know that. Successful event planners have a habit to look into things most of us would ignore, making it very special for attendees. They make you feel taken care of and constantly delighted. 5. Innovation Driven Innovation is a big part of modern events. No successful event professional I know runs events like we used to in the 90s. Whether it is canapés, social media, apps, AR, VR, meeting design, they are aware of what's going on and implement when they see a fit with their audience. 6. All rounders Successful event planners will be comfortable discussing centrepieces, style, accounting, social media marketing and crowd management. They can comfortably move from one area to another. They are true connoisseurs of whatever is needed to run an event - even if we are talking about 15 different disciplines. In Conclusion Everybody can become a successful event professional. In fact none of their skills are talent dependent, they can be acquired. It just takes a strong motivation to change your life and the world through the events you plan.
