Chasewater Railway's 0-6-0 Hunslet 'Hollybank No3' Gets Her Boiler Ticket!!
Last weeks 'Big Shunt' ( • 'THE BIG SHUNT' - Behind The Scenes At The... ) saw the 'Big Blue' engine released from the workshop and taken to the steam shed in readiness for todays steam tests conducted by an independent boiler inspector. We've not seen her at work since 2016 and her boiler was returned in June 2019 and dropped onto frame. ( • 'Holly Bank No3' Get's Her Boiler Back at ... ) Since then Mark Sealy and volunteers have worked to restore her to her former glory and today saw that work rewarded with a satisfactory examination and steam test thus gaining a 10 year boiler safety certificate. A welcome return to service and she will be sharing the steam roster with 'Waleswood' and 'Dunlop No6' when the belated operating season begins on the 29th May.
