What does this mean for you? It means you can win adjustment of status and become a green card holder. Even better, depending on the specific facts of your 245i eligibility, your spouse or unmarried child under 21 may be able to also win permanent residency. Such an outcome is the product of what is called grandfathering under 245(i), which means even though there is a new set of rules controlling cases like yours that are filed today, your petition can still proceed under the old laws.
