Episode 3 - Guardians of Knowledge
In this episode, we are in conversation with sculptors Rose Namubiru Kirumira and Kobus la Grange, who transformed one of the pine trees that made way for the Wallenberg Research Centre extension building, into a symbol of knowledge, stewardship and renewal. Kirumira is a visual artist from Uganda specialising in sculpture. She is a Research Fellow at the Visual Arts Department at Stellenbosch University and a Trustee of the Stellenbosch Outdoor Sculpture Trust. La Grange is a figurative sculptor whose work focuses on the human condition, expressing a deep curiosity into the narratives of the body.
