It would be ideal to photography this area sunrise, sunset or milky way time. We were making our way through this area quickly, so the time we had is the best time. There are several amazing locations spread out through the badlands if you have a couple days to explore. This area is protected, so leave no trace and leave things where you find them. There is primitive camping on BLM ground nearby. Tread respectively and quietly on Native American Nation. It is truly alien looking in its beautiful formations, so have fun exploring.
