As you know this city is known as RAINcouver, which has a lot of rain and many people here suffer from depression. The name has double meanings; "the kanji for APPARE is 天晴 meaning clear the sky" and "あっぱれ is a word people shout out after seeing an excellent performance. チーム名「APPARE」には当て字の「天晴」から、雨が多いバンクーバーの空を太陽のように明るく晴れやかに照らすという意味と、演舞の後には「あっぱれ」、つまり"Excellent!"
